Meet the Doctors
Dr. Sami Yousuf
Dr. Yousuf graduated from the State University of New York Stony Brook, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Science. He received his Doctorate Degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1997. Dr Yousuf furthered his study, by obtaining a degree of Advanced Education in General Dentistry from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia in 1998. In 2005 Dr. Yousuf was awarded a fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantology, where he demonstrated an exceptional interest in the advancement of Implant Dentistry. In 2006, Dr Yousuf completed advanced training in cosmetic, and smile makeover dentistry, under the supervision of acclaimed cosmetic dentist, Dr. Larry Rosenthal in New York City.
Dr Yousuf has been in private practice in Norwich, CT. since 1998, and East Lyme, CT. since 2000. He is an active member of the New London County Dental Society, Connecticut State Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantology, and International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Dr Yousuf his wife and three Daughters reside in East Lyme, CT. In his time away from the practice and study of Dentistry he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, cooking, and Golf.
Dr. Joseph Palumbo
Dr. Joseph Palumbo received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook before earning his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1997.
After completing an advanced education in General Dentistry from Lutheran Medical Center in (Brooklyn NY), Dr. Palumbo and Dr. Yousuf formed East Lyme Family and Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Palumbo holds a fellowship certification in Dental Implants from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and advanced training in Cosmetic Dentistry and Smile Makeovers from the Rosenthal Institute of Aesthetic Dentistry in New York City.
His other affiliations include Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), Holistic Dental Association (HDA), Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), and (HAD), The foundation of Dentistry for the Handicap, (AACD), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Palumbo enjoys being a comprehensive care dentist where he can use his wide range of clinical skills to help patients achieve the smile they have always wanted. It is his personal commitment to treat patients on an individual caring basis with patient comfort and satisfaction as his ultimate goal.
Dr. Gazzola
Dr. Gregory Gazzola grew up in the small town of Dayville, CT. He attended public schools, then went to Assumption College in Worcester Mass. to earn his Bachelor’s degree. He obtained his D.M.D. degree from UCONN in 1987. After working as an associate in a local practice for 1 ½ years, he founded his own practice in Danielson, CT. which he maintained for 16 years. He joined Norwich Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in February 2005.
Dr. Gazzola has almost 25 years experience with dentures, surgery, cosmetics, and endodontics. He was awarded a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2009.
Dr Gazzola takes a very practical approach toward all his cases and pays meticulous attention to detail. He is a member of the I.C.O.I. , C.S.D.A., and the N.E.C.D.S. Dr Gazzola also spends one day a week working at a community health center treating less fortunate and needy patients.
In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar and bass in his local church choir, and is a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He resides with his wife and two teenage sons in the rural town of East Putnam CT.
